India beats England!

Something that has happened only 5 times in the past 75 years, a test victory in England deserves a special mention. A great performance by the team - Zaheer and the openers specially. Tendulkar got it going too, the nasty hit on the helmet notwithstanding. A moment to enjoy - and hope for a series victory.

Graduation Video is up!

Watch mom and dad 'dress' me for my Graduation ceremony - putting my cap on! It was really windy and my Batman gown seems to all over the place. Its Abhijeet shooting the video - it took everyone a while to work the small camcorder. I'm so happy my parents were able to make it the 'Shoe that day! Take a look!

I am the Master!

It is official. I now have a Master of Science degree from The Ohio State University. Starting in Fall 2003 in University of Akron and culminating at OSU in Spring 2007, it has been a fun ride learning and re-learning things. Although this degree is just a checkpoint to getting my Ph.D, it sure feels great to be at the school commencement, wear the black robe and hood, march into Ohio Stadium, get your degree conferred from the Provost and the President, have a diploma handed to yourself from your college dean and then rush out to meet your parents and friends and show them what you earned.

The commencement speaker Bill Clinton, democratic ex-president, spoke really well and talked about "interdependence" as the new mantra for living in today's world. That guy is good. Maybe I am just comparing him to Georgie Bush.....nahhhh, Bill's great.

Deja vu?

OSU plays Florida in the National Championship Game on Monday. But wait a minute - wasnt that in January, and didnt we get punched in out mouth 41-14? Yes, that is unfortunately true - but now this is Basketball, and we have Greg Oden in place of Troy Smith to turn the tables on Florida, hopefully. OSU beat Georgetown convincingly in the Final Four Game on Saturday and looked in pretty good shape. Florida hammered UCLA and has OSU next on its list. Hoping Oden can do his thing again....



Whatever happens, no one must forget the Ron Lewis 3 at the end of regulation against Xavier. This is March Madness! I love college sports!



Good Luck Bucks! Please beat Florida, we dont wanna have to do this again...

Sreesanth dance - all he needs now is a pole!

This is Sreesanth, of Indian cricket, responding to Andre (the Giant) Nel of South Africa by scoring a six. Andre had a little converation with Sree earlier - way to reply!

By the way, India beat South Africa by 123 runs to go up 1-0 in the 3 match series. Ganguly's back in the team and back in form straight up. Hope Tendulkar can get himself going too - its been a while that he's got a big one.

While I'm posting cricket videos, I cannot resist posting this one from the 1992 World Cup - the famous spat between Kiran More and Javed Miandad. India won that match, by the way.

One More To Go!

12-0 we are. 13-0 we want to be. Ohio State beat Michigan in a tough battle tonight 42-39 and entered the BCS Title Game. Props to Michigan for such a close and thrilling game. This one is for the ages. OSU piled on 503 yards on the #1 Defense in the nation, and Michigan put on 39 points on the #1 Scoring Defense in the nation. Tressel goes 5-1 on Carr - on track for a 10-2 record, exactly opposite to Cooper.

My 5 cents on the experience tonight:

1. Troy Smith is a great orator - yes you got that right. He is a great QB for sure, but listening to him talk in the post-game conference shows that he has a sound head on his shoulders. And the team (and the fans) love him. "I was downstairs [in the locker room] with my teammates and the overall feeling is unparalleled," said Troy. "You wouldn't be able to understand it unless you ran the gasses that we ran, ran the hills that we've ran, pushed the sleds that we've pushed. When that heat and that sun is beating down your back in the summer ... I love every single one of my teammates with the deepest passion you can probably have for another person."

2. The field turf was a problem. There were many players slipping all over the place. Although its same for both teams, it seemed as if Michigan was affected more times than us. You might see that as an excuse coming from the losing team.

3. Beanie Wells will win the Heisman in 2009.

The One thing George Bush got right!



This is Beat Michigan Week. Yes, we are crazy here and name this week as "Beat Michigan Week". Hell, we postpone election counts if we have to for the game. Who needs government if we have football? The world stops for us this Saturday, and we can't really get much done during this week anyhow. Check this out and see for yourself how much and why Michigan Sucks and its the duty of every sane human being to hate them.

All that talk about the great Michigan defense is now fully understood, as shown below. Oooo....we are all so scared in here. Is that what it was all about?
